Sezane Bags: A Review
Welcome to my Sezane bags review. Accessories are the icing on the cake. They can change the entire vibe of an outfit. Bags have always been my absolute favorite accessory. If I have to choose between shoes and bags, I’m choosing the bag! I have a growing collection of Sezane bags and I thought I would give you the scoop on each one.
Are Sezane Bags Good Quality?
The short answer is yes. This is the main reason I continue to invest in Sezane bags. I provide a quality review of each of the bags I own, listed below. Overall, Sezane is a great brand if you are looking for a luxury look for less. The quality is worth the price.
Where are Sezane Bags Made?
Where Sézane bags are made depends on the bag itself. The Milo leather bags, and the leather Farrow bags are made in Italy. Both of these are made with 100% vegetable-tanned cowhide leather. The leather is smooth and beautiful! The Marli bucket bag is made in Portugal using a 100% vegetable-tanned goatskin leather. And all of the raffia bags are made in Madagascar. Each of the workshops are audited for compliance standards by independent experts.
My Sezane Bag Review
Sezane Claude bag
The new Claude bag is so good! I was initially hesitant about it and I’m not sure why. It’s a little bit smaller then the Milo but I like that about it. Plus it’s easier to wear as a cross-body then the Milo is due to the slighly more compact size. Sezane is calling Claude, the new “it” bag of the season. It comes in a range of new colors, like this Rosewood (there is a similar smooth peach version for spring), which is a very neutral and wear-able pink. I’m wearing it with the iconic Chlo lace top.
The size is 6.1 x 7.9 x 2.6 inches (15.5 x 20 x 6.5 cm). Here is the Milo bag on the left (in natural), and the Claude bag on the right (in Rosewood) for size comparison.
The Claude bag is definitely one I will be reaching for again and again. It’s surprising how neutral this Rosewood color is. Pair it with camel, browns, ivory, or olive tones for a beautiful fall palette.
Sezane Milo bag
I adore the Milo bag! I give a brief description of it in my Full Sezane Review. But let’s dive deeper into it today. The Milo bag is Sezane’s iconic leather bag. It comes in so many seasonal colors. This bag style is so popular that several brands are re-creating it. In fact, this bag is very similar to the Celine classic bag which retails for $4200. The leather is soft and smooth just like the Celine bag. If surface scratches will bother you, this may not be the bag for you. I have definite scratch marks on mine but it’s part of the character of a natural leather bag. For reference, The Curated also has a very similar bag, the Classic Shoulder bag which is a little bit larger than the Milo classic bag. This one is really gorgeous as well!
I have the Milo classic bag, but this style also comes in a mini version. The classic size is 6.7 x 9.4 x 1.8 inches (17 x 24 x 4.5 cm), and the mini size is 4.7 x 7.5 x 2 inches (12 x 19 x 5 cm). Although I love the colors offered in the mini version, that size is just too small for me. The adjustable straps lets you wear this right under the shoulder (how I prefer it), or longer. I have the Natural Heritage leather color which leans towards a warm brown, almost cognac color. Overall this is one of my favorite bags I own. It’s so timeless.
Milo Bag Outfit Details
While this post is about Sezane bags, I want to share some outfit and sizing details with you since they are always good to know. This floral Dorotha dress is a summer must! I love the midi length with the slit on the side. This side slit does not go up too far like some other brands do (excuse me Reformation. Love you, but sometimes the slit is just too high). The tie shoulder straps are also so appreciated. This is great for petites as you can adjust and tie the straps tighter on the shoulders. I’m wearing a comfortable size 2. I’m also wearing the City Sandals in a size 7, which have a block heel and comfortable cushioned insole.
Sézane Raffia Farrow bag
The Farrow bucket bag comes in leather and raffia. It also comes in classic (which I’m wearing), mini, and nano sizes. This review is for the classic size. For the mini bag review, see below! The Farrow bag is an easy everyday bag. This one also has an adjustable leather strap. It’s roomy and effortless, and what you would see people wearing if strolling through the cote d’azure markets. It’s an iconic French style that is perfect for all your everyday essentials plus more. I have the plain raffia version but this also comes in beautiful embroidered patterns. The leather ties keep the bag closed. Note though that you will have to un-tie the straps every time you want to take something out (unless you choose to keep it un-tied for ease). The size is 10.2 x 9 x 6.6 inches (26 x 23 x 17 cm).
Farrow Bag Outfit Details
Here I’m wearing the Deia shorts in size 0 (the Rome shorts are similar but with a cuff) and the Tomboy shirt in size 2. You can see how this floral Tomboy shirt is a little bit larger than the size 0 I’m wearing in the striped version with my Zina bag outfit below. While both sizes work really well, I prefer the size 2 for it’s slightly larger fit. If you are in between sizes, I say size up.
The Deia shorts run pretty true to size. Like I said, I’m generally a US size 0 and these fit great. Although I think I can get way with a size 2 as well since this is a denim fabric and a tiny bit more rigid. However if in doubt, size up here as well.
And I’m loving these pink sunglasses! They are the perfect summer accessory to go with your Sezane bags.
Mini Farrow bag
The mini Farrow bucket bag is a cute “younger sister” of the classic Farrow bag. The smaller size makes it better suited for crossbody wearing. In fact, I used this bag everyday while we went to Washington D.C. this Spring. This is my go-to summer street fair bag since I will only need to carry my main essentials. The size is small but surprisingly roomy. The dimensions are 8.7 x 5.7 x 5.9 (22 x 14.5 x 15 cm). This also has adjustable leather straps and a tie closure. The beautiful embroidery is handmade and takes 38 hours to make! The details are stunning! I love and use this bag so much that I also have it in the classic version without the embroidery. It also comes in a mini leather version (see photo below) and even a micro velvet for the winter holiday season!

I’m wearing the white Tomboy shirt in size 2. It really is a go-to staple of mine. Everyone needs a white shirt for putting together quick and easy outfits. I’m also really happy about the wide leg jean trend this year. I think they are so flattering for all body types as they balance you out. These pink wide leg jeans are so comfortable, I also have them in ecru.
Below I’m wearing the pink Betty cardigan which is a favorite of mine.
Farrow Bag Size Comparison
Here is the micro Farrow bag. The size is 6.9 x 4.7 x 7.5 inches (17.5 x 12 x 19 cm). It’s a cute size and is actually roomier than it looks.
June Raffia Basket Bag
This June basket bag is the first Sezane bag I got about 2 summer’s ago. I love the embroidered details and how Sézane is updating the patterns and colors each year. This is a large and roomy shoulder bag. You can fit a ton in this! It has an open style with no closure. Although I would prefer a magnetic closure on this, many raffia bags are left open. Since it sits on the shoulder, your arm will naturally hold it closed. This is a great bag when you need to carry a little extra plus your water bottle. The large round size is 12.6 x 12.6 x 4.7 inches (32 x 32 x 12 cm). A perfect summer beach bag!
June Bag Outfit Details
This linen cotton blend dress is from my favorite Italian brand. I love the fitted bodice, covered buttons, and tiered skirt. Italian sizing is a bit different but they do list their US size counterparts. I wear a size IT36 (US 0) in this brand. But do size up if in doubt, as the tailoring is impeccable and very true to size, if not slightly on the smaller side compared to most brands.
Jude Basket Bag
The Jude bag is similar to the June bag above, but is a little larger at 14.6 x 17.3 x 13.8 inches (37 x 44 x 35 cm). And it has scallops. This bag is such a stunner! The scallop detail really makes this bag stand out as one of the prettiest natural raffia bags I’ve seen. Just like the June bag, the handles are not adjustable, and the bag has an open closure. Like all of the Sezane raffia bags, this one is unlined. This is a great grab-and-go bag to take to the pool or on any of your daily adventures. In the looks department, it’s a toss up between this bag and the Zina bag below. You can see my wearing this in my Sezane Jewelry post too.
Zina Basket Bag
It’s the little ruffle detail that does it for me on this Zina raffia bag. A similar style to the Jude bag but this one is much smaller and has a top handle. I love top handle bags and think they are so pretty and underused. I love grabbing this one for lunch dates. It has a polished look about it while still being casual since it’s made from raffia. The size is a good 9.8 x 9.8 x 2.8 inches (25 x 25 x 7 cm) so it holds a nice amount of items. This one also has an open style and is unlined. Just like the Jude bag above, the open work details on the weaving is just so beautiful. A forever bag for sure.
Zina Bag Outfit Details
I’m wearing the Tomboy shirt in size 0 and the Ginkie skirt in size 2. The Tomboy shirt is the wardrobe hero. I can’t tell you how many times I reach for mine, especially my white one. It’s the perfect classic shirt that goes with everything from jeans, to pants, to shorts, and skirts. You can even wear it over a dress with with it knotted in the front for a very casual vibe. It’s my go-to when I’m not sure what to wear. It just always works!
The Ginkie skirt runs a tad bit on the small side. I’m wearing a size 2 and it fits perfect! But my usual US size is a size 0. So if in doubt, size up. Overall a very comfortable skirt. I love that you can really dress this down with a classic t-shirt and sneakers, or wear it with sandals. Heel or no heel, it still looks great. I love the patchwork quilted fabric. It’s light and very comfortable, and does have a bit of stretch to it. Plus it’s not too short!
Sezane Isabelle Bag
The Isabelle bag is your go-to date night bag for spring and summer. It’s a great size to keep all of your essentials. I do prefer this raffia bag for night however if you don’t carry too much, you can certainly wear this during the day too. It’s much roomier than it appears. The size is 6.3 x 11.8 x 3.5 inches (16 x 30 x 9 cm) and it’s not a structured bag but is flexible.
Sezane Justine Bag
The Justine raffia tote is one of the most popular summer bags by Sezane. This one always sells out quick, but thankfully it is usually restocked. The large tote style can really hold a lot, while the attached internal pocket keeps your valuables safe. This is a great “grab and go” style for everyday outfits. I’m wearing the regular size which is 9.8 x 20.1 x 7.1 inches (25 x 51 x 18 cm). There is also a maxi version which is 12.6 x 7.9 x 23.6 inches (32 x 20 x 60 cm) and is better if you need to carry a lot. This is your perfect “day at the beach” bag.
I’m styling the Justine tote with the Pippa short dress in both photos above. You may also be interested in reading my Sezane Dresses review.
