Sezane Pants Guide: My Honest Review & Sizing Advice

If there’s one thing Sezane does especially well, it’s pants. Over the last eight years, I’ve tried quite a few of their most popular styles, and they’ve become some of the pieces I wear most in my wardrobe. In this Sezane pants review, I’m sharing my honest thoughts on the styles I personally own, including how each pair fits, what size I wear, and which ones work best on my 5’2″ frame.

Sezane pants sizing can vary quite a bit depending on the style and fabric, so I’ll also share what I’ve learned about sizing, how the different styles compare, and which pants I think are most worth buying.

The Best Sezane Pants I’ve Tried

I’ve tried so many Sezane pants over the last eight years of wearing the brand, but there are a few that stand out.

How do Sezane Pants Fit?

I’ve found that Sezane pants sizing varies more by the individual style and fabric than the brand as a whole. I typically wear a size 0, but I own different sizes depending on the pants. For example, I wear a 0 in the poly/wool blend Damon trousers but a 2 in the higher-wool version, which is thicker and fits slightly smaller. With the Dan trousers, I wear a 0 in the poly/wool version and a 2 in the more structured denim.

Because of this, I wouldn’t automatically size up or down in Sezane pants. I always look at the fabric and fit of the individual style first. I’ve included my sizing notes for each pair below to help you decide which size will work best for you. Sezane also does a great job of noting when they recommend sizing up or down for a particular style.

Sezane Pants Reviews

Below are my reviews of the Sezane pants I personally own and have worn, including the Damon, Herri, Albin, Chuck, Ciara, Dan, and Martin trousers. I’ll share how each style fits, what size I wear, and how they compare. Sezane pants sizing can vary quite a bit between styles and fabrics, so I’ve included those differences throughout the reviews below.

Sezane Damon Trousers Review

The Damon trousers are one of my favorite Sezane pants styles, and I now own them in a few different colors and fabrics. I love the cropped length. It’s perfect for my petite frame (I’m 5’2″, or 157 cm). While Sezane does not have petite sizing, the cropped pants and jeans are a great length for shorter frames. The Damon trousers come in several colors and fabrics. I’m wearing the Ecru version made from a polyester/ wool blend with 43% wool. The fabric has a very nice drape to it and is not see through at all.

As for the Sezane pants sizing, the Damon style runs pretty true to size. I’m wearing the size 0 however after receiving these, I did order a size 2 for comparison. I decided to stick with the size 0 as it fit me better. The size 2 was a little big in the waist. Overall, if you are in-between sizes, you may want to size down in this style. But please note that the Damon Trousers are also available in a warmer wool. Because of the high wool count, the fabric is a bit thicker, which makes this style run slightly smaller. If in-between sizes, then size up in the wool. I have them in a size 2.

With its cuffed hem, the Damon pants make for a perfect fall transition outfit. Pair these with a button-down shirt, or an of-the-moment sweater polo for ultra chic style.

Sezane Herri Crop Trousers

The Herri crop trousers are part of Sezane’s rebranding collection. The cropped length works especially well for petites, giving a nice full-length look on my 5’2″ frame.

I generally wear a size 0 or 2 in Sezane pants depending on the style. I ordered a size 2 in the Herri, and my initial reaction when I tried them on was that they were too large. However, these are mid-rise pants, and I’m used to Sezane’s very high rises. Wearing them just below the belly button, as intended, they actually fit great.

The relaxed fit is very comfortable, and the wide leg with the slight flare works really well on my 5’2″ frame. I love that I can wear them with both flats and heels. That makes them worth the purchase since they’re so versatile.

I would choose the Herri if you like a relaxed fit that doesn’t bunch oddly across the crotch area.

Herri vs. Martin Crop: The Herri has a similar wide leg with a slight flare to the Martin crop. The biggest difference for me is the rise. The Martin is high-rise, while the Herri is mid-rise and sits just below my belly button.

Sezane Albin Crop Trousers

The Albin trousers are offered in full length and crop styles. Being petite, I always gravitate towards crop pants. The Albin crop trousers are actually a miss for me, though. The length is actually perfect for petites since you can wear both flats and heels. Plus I really appreciate the lining and the relaxed fit through the legs. But because of the very high-rise, the waist is too large for me in a size 2.

Since size 2 is currently the smallest size offered, these may not work if you typically wear a size 0 in Sezane pants. If Sezane offers them in a size 0 in the future, I would definitely give them another try.

Albin vs. Damon: The Albin crop is very similar to the Damon crop. Both have a high rise, flat front, and similar fit, but the Albin is slightly longer and doesn’t have the cuffed hem of the Damon.

Sezane Pants: The Chuck Trousers

No Sezane pants guide would be complete without mentioning the Chuck trousers. They still remain one of my favorite pants style. These always sell-out quick and are a fan favorite. The most notable feature is the button fly. Combined with the high-waist and straight-leg style, I find they make my legs look longer.

The Chuck trouser sizing is a bit different from the Damon trousers discussed above. These run a little smaller, and so I wear a size 2, even with the same polyester/wool blend as the Damon trousers. When in doubt, I would size up in this style. Note that I did have to get these hemmed (I’m 5’2″).

Sezane Ciara Pants

The Ciara pants are a classic French cigarette style pants but with a slightly flared hem. You often see this styled with a striped tee or sweater, and ballet flats. They remind me of my Vince stitch front pants, and they are the same length. I’m styling the Ciara cotton pants for fall with the iconic Betty cardigan. But I also love them with a simple sweater and loafers.

The Ciara pants are form-fitting through the waist and legs with a slight flare at the hem. They have a side zipper, high waist, and cropped length. At 5’2″, the length works really well for me without any hemming.

These run on the smaller side. I wear a size 2, and there is no way I would be able to zip up a size 0! If you’re between sizes, I would size up in the Ciara.

Sezane Dan Trousers Review

The Dan trousers are right up there next to my beloved Chuck trousers (the pair I’m wearing here was a gift from the brand). What I love most about the Dan, and what makes them so classic, is the high-waist and front pockets. They have a bit of a vintage, 70s feel to them. All the charm is in the front pockets so I like to make sure I tuck or wear a shorter top so not to cover them.

The Dan pants sizing is similar to the Damon trousers. For the polyester/ wool blend style, take your usual size or size down. I wear the Dan trousers in a size 0, except for the denim version. Since the denim fabric is thicker and more structured, I size up to a 2. They are listed as mid-rise on the site, however I find these to be high-waisted on me. I do need to get the Dan trousers hemmed to fit my 5’2″ petite height.

Sezane Martin Trousers

The Martin Trousers are one of Sezane’s more classic trouser styles. They have a straight, full-length leg that’s slightly wider than the Dan trousers. I own the Martin in a wool blend, and they’re some of my favorite pants to wear in the winter. Made from 70% wool and 30% polyamide, my pair is so soft and almost flannel-like.

I’m wearing them here with a sweater and the Alice pumps, but this is an easy trouser style to dress up or down. I wear a size 2 (French 34), and at 5’2″, I did need to have them hemmed. If you’re petite and want to save a trip to the tailor, they do come in a cropped version I share below.

Martin vs. Damon Trousers: The Martin and Damon trousers are actually very similar. Both have a flat front with a single button closure, side pockets, and a straight leg. The biggest difference is that the Damon has a cuffed hem and is fully lined. The cuff adds a little more character, while the lining adds extra warmth. Both pants come in full length and cropped options.

Martin Crop Trousers

Petites will love the Martin crop trousers! While these are not crop on my 5’2″ (157 cm) frame, they hit just right for wearing with flats or a low heel. This style is made from cotton and runs just slightly smaller than the wool version above. I’m wearing a size 2 so I think it still fits true to size. However if you are in-between sizes, I would size up. See the navy version below:

Sezane Le Crop Jeans

The Sezane Le Crop jeans had been on my wishlist for a while. I was wondering how they would fit on my 5’2″ frame. Although these aren’t cropped on me, they’re a great full length for wearing with flats or a low heel. One thing to note is the rise. These are very high-waisted on me, so if you have a shorter torso, the rise may feel quite high.

If you’re petite and are looking for a pair of full length wide-leg jeans that you don’t have to hem, these are a great option. I wear a size 2. I’ve found that Sezane’s more structured denim tends to fit smaller, so if you’re between sizes, I would size up.

Le Droit Jeans

The Le droit jeans are another petite-friendly pair of Sezane jeans. They have a classic straight-leg shape, and I love the length because I can wear them with both heels and flats.

The denim is more rigid with just 1% elastane. I wear a size 2, and if you’re between sizes, I would size up. Between these and the Le Crop jeans, I much prefer the look and feel of the Le Droit on me.

Best Sezane Pants for Petites

At 5’2″, I’ve found Sézane’s cropped pants are usually the best place to start if you’re petite. Many of the cropped styles fit me more like full-length pants, which means I can wear them without hemming. Of the styles I’ve tried, the Damon Crop is one of my best overall recommendations for petites, while the Herri Crop is another great option if you prefer a more relaxed, wide-leg fit and a mid rise.

Sezane Shipping and Returns

Sezane offers free standard shipping on U.S. orders over $200. Otherwise, standard shipping is $8 and typically takes 4–6 working days. Express shipping is $15, or free on orders over $750, and typically takes 2–4 working days. Sezane states that no additional duties or fees will be collected upon delivery.

Returns are easy too. You have 30 days after receiving your order to make a return, and items must be unworn with the original labels attached. A return label is included with your package, or you can print the label emailed to you after creating the return in your Sezane account. I’ve found the return process easy, which is especially helpful since sizing can vary between Sezane pants styles.

Are Sezane pants good quality?

Yes, Sezane pants are some of the better quality pants I’ve tried. The fabrics feel substantial, and I appreciate the extra details that go into the designs, like front pockets, buttons, and different hem finishes. Compared with my Aritzia pants, which I find very comfortable, Sezane pants tend to have more of a structured, tailored feel.

Are Sezane jeans good quality?

I do think that Sezane jeans are good quality. But whether or not you will actually wear them depends a lot on how you like your jeans. I find that overall, Sezane’s jeans are more structured and rigid than styles you’ll find from J.Crew or PAIGE. The rise is also higher, which can be uncomfortable if you have a shorter torso.
