Sezane James coat review

The plaid coat has become a closet classic. Finding the perfect plaid coat is more of a challenge then one would think. Depending on the color and fabric, it can put off some “grandpa vibes”. Nothing wrong with a vintage look. In fact I love vintage clothing. There is something very alluring about it. What’s it’s story, where has it been, or who owned it? The mind can get carried away and lost in a story.

There was a time pre-kids that I would frequent antique shops and shows, always on the hunt for a perfect treasure. I have many antique objects in my house from these hunts. I still enjoy this although I hardly have time for this anymore. Still, all things vintage and antique still pull at my heart.

Sezane James Coat

When I saw this plaid coat from Sezane (similar Navy style here), I immediately got that vintage feeling. This is a special plaid coat, a perfect plaid coat in my opinion. This one has a feminine look to it which is rare in a plaid coat. Most are masculine, a “borrowed from the boys” type of look. This one has a mix of muted neutrals in ivory, gray, and nude. A delicious combo in my mind. In fact, at one point in time, all of my Pinterest boards were filled with these tones.

This Sezane James coat was just too special and too perfect to resist. Plus, Sezane has a certain allure that always draws me in. Maybe it is their highly curated seasonal launches, the fact that certain items seem to sell out in minutes, or the French je n’ais ce quoi. In any event, Sezane does the modern vintage look extremely well. This plaid coat is proof of that. If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit the New York City store yet, see my for some eye candy!

The Outfit

I planned this outfit around the coat, of course! Pulling all the colors from this perfect plaid pattern. With the ivory as the base, I pulled out the gray into my pants, and shoes. By the way, these are the most comfortable pair of shoes you can wear! Sarah Flint shoes are crafted in the same factory in Italy as Manolo Blahnik, Hermes, and Christian Louboutin. They are made with arch support and extra padding in the heel. (See my Sarah Flint post here). Next, I enhanced the nude color with my Chanel Vanity bag and cashmere sweater. The look achieved is an overall feminine and cozy vibe. Perfect for this chilly season.

So grab a coffee and let your imagination take you away while you shop my Sezane picks (You can also read my Full Sezane Review here and my review of Sezane’s bags here). Shop my Sezane picks linked below. But hurry and don’t let this perfect plaid coat get away! You will enjoy this for many seasons to come. I know I will!
