Having a hard time choosing which Sezane top to get? I’m sharing the style differences and fit so you can decide which top is best for you. I’m here to help breakdown the differences (or similarities) between Sezane’s most popular tops. Tops are an easy first time purchase to try the brand out. Be warned- once you try, you will be hooked!

Pierro Shirt

I won’t go into too much detail on the Pierro shirt since I have a whole post dedicated to it- Sezane Pierro Shirt Review. However I will say that this is my favorite shirt option from Sezane. The cotton fabric is the softest and lightest material, without it being too thin. It is not a structured poplin shirt, but a more fluid cotton that really moves with you. The classic collar and buttons make this a timeless option, while the prints give this a modern update with a slight vintage feel.

It is the most comfortable button down shirt you can find. The Pierro shirt generally comes in 100% cotton, or a cotton/silk blend.

Tomboy shirt

If you are looking for a classic 100% organic button down shirt that is relaxed yet polished, the Tomboy shirt is what you are looking for. In complete contrast to the Grayson Hero shirt which is generous in sizing, the Tomboy shirt is not oversized. It is more true to size with only a slightly more relaxed fit than the Pierro shirt. The fabric is also a bit heavier than the Pierro shirt which is thin. I’m wearing this in a size 2.

The cotton is fabric is also slightly heavier yet not as structured as a cotton poplin. This is your classic white button down shirt to wear with jeans for an off-duty look, or with pants for a professional work look. In addition to 100% cotton, the Tomboy shirt also comes in a cotton blend. Like each of the Sezane shirts, this one comes in a range of prints and colors. Wear this tucked, knotted, or half tucked depending on your mood. I reach for this all the time!

Sezane Rym Shirt

The Rym shirt is a beauty! I was pleasantly surprised when I received this. I expected the lace top to feel like the lace Chlo shirt (a tiny bit stiff), but this one is much softer. It feels more like the Pierro shirt, but with lace! A very comfortable shirt to wear. It’s has a dressy look but with a casual feel to it.

I’m wearing a size 2, with a nude bra underneath. A skin colored camisole would be great too if you don’t want your bra showing through. Size up if you are in-between sizes. And sorry for the movement in this photo! It’s always hard for me to keep still. 😉

Ann shirt

The Ann shirt is a popular choice for its classically elevated mood. To be honest, the only difference I see between the Ann shirt and the Pierro shirt is the fabric. The Pierro shirt generally comes in cotton, while the Ann shirt generally comes in silk, or silk blend. The fit is the same true to size style, with a classic collar, buttons, and straight cut. Unlike the Pierro shirt with its regular buttons, the Ann shirt often has fabric covered buttons. For a more casual look, consider the Pierro shirt. And for a dressier look for dinner or work, try the Ann shirt.

Chlo shirt review

The Chlo shirt is the most ladylike of the bunch. The ruffled placket and collar, along with the covered buttons makes this a dressier option than the Pierro or the Tomboy. Generally speaking, the Chlo shirt comes in silk, although there is a more casual blue stripe that instantly elevates any casual look. I love the dark green version for the holiday season. This one is special because it can be worn with jeans for an elegant casual look, or worn with suit pants, or a skirt for a dressier option. The fit is true to size and is plenty long enough for tucking into a medium rise or high waisted pair of pants or jeans.

If you are looking for a dressier top that can be worn to fancier occasions, try the Guipure lace blouse. It’s an elegant wardrobe classic that can be worn with pants, jeans, a skirt, or even shorts!

Bianca Blouse

I was eyeing the Bianca blouse for a while before I finally decided to purchase it. I wasn’t sure how the high lace neck would feel and if it would bother me. It doesn’t! It’s not itchy at all. In fact I’ve worn this top so many times already. It’s the perfect “going out top”. Yes, you can see your bra through it. Opt for a camisole if you want to be more conservative. I do love a black bra under the black Bianca blouse though for a dinner date! It has a very classy look to it. I’m wearing a size 0 in this style with the Dan trousers. Sezane tops- Mathilda shirt

I’m so happy Sezane brought back the Mathilda top this year. This top is similar to the Chlo shirt in that it has an embroidered ruffle detail along the collar and placket. The difference is, it has small gathers at the shoulders. This gives the top a more relaxed look to it, without it being oversized. It is offered in cotton and cotton blend styles. I would choose the Chlo shirt for a more polished and professional look, and the Mathilda shirt for a more casual look. Take your true size in this shirt. Please note the color difference between my top and the one shown on the Sezane site. Mine shows the true color tone (no filter!).
