The Best Sezane Pants for Petites This Summer
Finding summer pants that actually work on a petite frame is a lot harder than it sounds. Every summer, I end up reaching for the same few pairs of pants because they’re lightweight, easy to style, and still look polished in the heat.
Over the years, I’ve figured out which Sezane pants work best for petites, which ones are easiest to style, and which ones take a little more thought when it comes to the rise and fit. As someone who’s 5’2″, I’ve learned that rise, drape, and inseam matter far more than just “petite sizing” when it comes to finding summer pants that are flattering. So today I’m sharing the three I genuinely think are worth it, how they fit on me, and the tops and shoes I wear with them most.

Sezane Fausto Trousers

I have the Fausto trousers in three different color-ways. That alone tells you how much I love them. The way they drape on the leg is beautiful, and at 5’2″ they don’t need hemming, which for pants in general is pretty rare.
That said, I want to be honest about the waist. It is high. I mean very high. I’ve bought these three times knowing that, and I keep coming back, because the overall look is so flattering. They don’t pull oddly the way some Sezane pants do. But the rise does make tucking a top tricky, especially for petites. I’ve found that a sleeveless cotton sweater or a slightly cropped top like the Suza blouse I’m wearing is the best option here. Just enough to cover the waistband, and honestly more comfortable in summer heat anyway.
I’d consider them if you like a flat front, a straight wide leg, no hemming required for petites, and a special detail. I’d skip these if you dislike very high-rise pants or prefer fully tucked tops most of the time. The embroidery on certain color-ways is truly beautiful and such a unique detail. They fit true to size. I wear a size 2.
Best for: petite women who want a sleek, wide-leg pant that doesn’t require tailoring and don’t mind a very high rise.
The Gilles Pants

I love the Gilles pants. I just bought my first pair this season and I’m already looking forward to new colors. They’re considered sailor pants because of the button detail at the hips, and they have a straight wide cut with a very subtle flare at the hem. They fit a little more relaxed than the Fausto, and have a wider leg, but I wear the same size 2.
The fit is very petite-friendly. Being 5’2″, they run full length on me but a small heel takes care of that. The waist sits just right for a fully tucked top, and the embroidered details at the bottom makes them so much more special than plain linen pants. Honestly all you need is a great tee like the Clea tee or an embroidered tee like mine to complete the look. If you only buy one pair for summer travel, these are probably the easiest option because they work with flats or heels, and simple tees without much effort.
The pair I’m wearing is a linen and cotton blend, so it does wrinkle but not terribly. If you want to see these Sezane summer pants in motion, you can see them in my reel. These are the kind of pants I’d wear to lunch outside, a casual dinner on vacation, or even a summer Friday when I want to look polished without feeling too dressed up.
Best for: petites who want the easiest Sezane summer pants for everyday wear, vacation dinners, and tucked-in styling.

Gingham Ciara Trousers

I also have the Ciara trousers in a corduroy that I love in fall. The gingham print is what makes this the summer version worth having. They have a slim fit with a side zip for a clean waist, and they’re high-rise. Though noticeably less so than the Fausto, which makes a difference in how they style.
I like these with a crop sleeveless button-up left untucked, or with the Clea tee tucked in. Both give you an easy, polished summer outfit. The length is petite-friendly but reads more full-length than cropped, so a low heel or flat sandal works well depending on what you want.
Fits true to size, but if you’re between sizes, definitely go up. The fit is slimmer through the hips and waist with a straighter leg. I wear a size 2.
The gingham also makes these work later in the year with a solid black or ivory sweater and loafers. So you’ll get more than just a few months out of them. For more ways to style summer pieces into cooler months, this post has some easy ideas.
Best for: petites who want a slimmer silhouette with more styling flexibility. These are probably the best option if wide-leg pants overwhelm your frame or you prefer a slightly cleaner silhouette.
Which Sezane Summer Pants Are Best For Petites?
- Fausto Trousers: best if you want a wide-leg pant that doesn’t need hemming and don’t mind a dramatic rise
- Gilles Pants: the easiest everyday fit, most comfortable waist, best for tucked tops
- Ciara Trousers: best if you prefer a slimmer cut and want something that works into fall
Sezane is one of the brands I come back to most, and the pants are a big reason why. What all three styles have in common is that they solve a very specific problem: you get a summer outfit that looks like you put it together, without spending much time actually doing that. They work with simple cotton tees, sleeveless sweaters, flat sandals, or a low heel. That makes them much easier to wear again and again.
If I had to point you toward one pair to start, it’s the Gilles pants. They have the easiest fit on a petite frame, the most forgiving waist, and the one I’d reach for first every time.
