Sezane Mathilda pink shirt

Fall’s Bold Color Trends

Fall’s saturated color trends are all about celebrating life and having fun with fashion. While neutrals will always be a classic choice, this season is all about color! I’ve taken some of my favorite color pieces from the new Pre-fall Sezane collection to get your inspiration going!

Fall’s Color Trend: Pink

Pink is such a feminine choice in color. It’s warm and soft, and usually associated with Spring. This fall season is about a brighter, bolder pink. A saturated pink that is not for the faint of heart. Think of an intense pink sapphire. That’s what this reminds me of. This season’s pink is best paired with a muted neutral or denim to off-set it’s boldness. This is by far my favorite of Fall’s color trends!

Sezane Fall 2021 pink color trends

The prettiest pink top I’ve seen so far for the Fall season is the Mathilda shirt by Sezane. They have taken a classic button-up shirt and saturated it with the prettiest jewel tone pink. The scalloped trim detail gives a soft, delicate contrast to this bold color. I like this paired with my favorite trousers, also from Sezane to balance out the palette. The Mathilda shirt is also great paired with boot cut jeans to elevate your casual look.

Speaking of casual, this sweet little tee by Ba&sh is perfect for pairing with jeans or joggers. It’s a nice and grab-and-go for the mornings when you need to get your coffee or drop the kids off at school. It’s polished enough to work from home in, and comfy enough to lounge in. Pink is my favorite of Fall’s color trends.

Color Trend: Blue

An all-season favorite color of mine is blue. The blues this fall season are varied in hue. They range from soft and airy to bold and aegean. Blue is an unconventional neutral. It goes with a wide range of colors. You can contrast it with yellow, or blend it with green. The options are endless.

Sezane Loree Dress

This is Sezane’s Loree dress in a beautiful shade of blue (here’s a similar denim midi dress). Mixed in this batik print is varying shades of red. It is a welcome compliment to the blue. I’ve paired this with my Artemis belt ( I wear a size 80) in Camel and knee high boots. I also love this belt to add a richer texture to the print. I’m also wearing the cutest bag by Jeff Wan which is inspired by a Chinese food takeout box. I love the blue on blue tones.

This dress runs true to size and is a comfortable length for going into the Fall season. You can pair this with block heel pumps, knee-high boots as I have, or with short booties. But don’t forget a belt to add dimension to your look!

Here are some other favorite blue pieces for Fall!

Fall’s Bold Purple Color Trend

Shades of violet and purple are what come to mind when I think of jewel tones. Deep amethyst is such a rich color that has been worn by royalty for centuries. Queen Elizabeth I actually forbid anyone except close members of the royal family to wear the color. Thankfully it’s widely available now!

Sezane Scarlett knit jumper

Fall 2021 color trends

Purple is the most exciting color trend this Fall. Another favorite of Sezane’s pre-fall collection is the Scarlett Jumper (similar here) in a saturated purple hue. This chunky knit is great as a top layer over a tank, tucked into a comfortable pair of jeans. These jeans are my top Fall staple as I love the fit, color, and style. To keep your violets from feeling too cool, trying mixing in rich tan colors like these boots to keep it feeling warm and cozy.

Christy Lynn collection Karla Blouse

To take things up a notch, try this silk crinkle chiffon blouse made by Christy Lynn (similar blouse here). You’ve heard me talk about Christy Lynn before (here). She still stands at one of my top favorite brands! This Karla blouse was inspired by a restored 1930’s hand-painted French wallpaper. If I had to describe myself as a piece of clothing, this blouse would be it. I love the beautiful detail, the cool-toned shade of the violet, and the story behind the print. In addition, I’ve paired this with my Joe’s bootcut jeans that I’ve had for several years now. I love the style and fit of these, and happy that bootcut is back this season!

Fall Outfits

There are many options when it comes to wearing Fall’s saturated color trend. If these color trends are too bold for you, try incorporating them into accessories like earrings, a bag, or scarf.

So ALL three of these colors are favorites for me, but especially the bold pink! I love that you’re featuring cool autumnal colors versus the typical warm browns. As a woman with super light skin, autumn color palettes can be a challenge for me! I’ve always been fond of jewel tones and this season really is the perfect time wear them.

    Wonderful post!
