Block heel sandals definitely make a statement. The chunky heel gives you balance and height, but also gives you a statement making accessory. When wearing block heel sandals, especially in gold, I like to keep my other accessories minimal. There are two block heel styles I really love.

First is the Lulu gold shoes in a 2.2 inch (55 mm) heel height. If you have read my previous blogs, you will know that Inez is a favorite shoe brand of mine. Plus the fact that I’ve already mentioned them twice here! First for quality and comfort, and second for style. Inez is very good at taking a timeless style and adding a modern twist to it. Made from luxe Spanish leather, and a proprietary plush insole with arch support, these block heels are great with dresses or pants for added height and sparkle! I wear a size 7 in this style. I think it fits a tiny bit large.

Next is the Perfect Block Sandals in a 60 mm heel height. These have an adjustable ankle strap for added support. These are very slightly higher than the Lulu sandals mentioned above, and the block heel is not as wide. This pair also contains comfortable arch support and is beautiful! When I think of summer, strappy grecian style sandals always comes to mind. A cotton dress and ankle strap flats are so effortlessly chic. A bit bohemian but classic enough to go with any style. I love these gold wrap sandals because of their extra plush insole and champagne color design. Plus they are work appropriate. If you are unsure of the trend or are looking to invest in it, a gold block heel shoe is a versatile option for you. The metallic texture takes away from the look of the block heel and puts the attention on the shine. It adds a feminine and elegant touch.

I’m wearing a closed toe version which is great for all seasons, however an open toe gold option is so classy! The style I’m wearing is from my Favorite French brand. I always look for cushioned footbeds, non-restrictive styles, and arch support if possible. I also don’t believe in a long break-in period. Shoes should be comfortable right out of the box. Maybe a bit tight with natural leather as that will stretch but nothing too stiff or too uncomfortable is worth wearing.
