This Fall, we are seeing the return of pointed toe shoes. The elongated length gives the illusion of being taller (which petite ladies will love!). Pointed toe loafers are great shoes to wear with wide-leg pants. Having the pointed toe peek out from underneath gives you a chic and elevated vibe. Best Fall Shoes: Knee High Boots

Knee high boots are my most worn cold weather item. They do dual duty by keeping you warm and stylish. I always tend to favor leather boots over suede knee high boots for their ease of cleaning. These are great paired with midi skirts and dresses, as well as worn over your straight leg jeans.

What I look for in knee high boots is shaft height and calf circumference. The shaft height is how high the boot comes up your leg, ideally right under the knee. You can check your ideal shaft height with measuring tape. Measure from the floor to right under your knee to see the best shaft height for you. Try to stick close to this number. Calf circumference determines how tightly a boot fits around your leg. For wearing over jeans, you will want a wider fit for the best comfort.

1. Stuart Weitzman Yuliana has a 60mm heel height (2.4″), shaft height is 15″, and calf circumference is 14.6″. It comes in black leather and charcoal suede.
