Galentines day

Galentine’s Day Fun

This is my second annual Galentine’s day post (see my first post here). I have to say, I love this holiday for the sheer joy of it! No one needs an excuse to dress up with their friends but it’s definitely fun to have one. This year, I met up with my friend Lauren from Ginnysclosetofficial at the beautiful Crystal Plaza. We talked mom life, shoes, handbags, and just had lots of laughs.

The Setting

The Crystal Plaza is located in North central New Jersey. It is a family owned and operated luxury catering and event production company with over 100 years of history. Aptly named the Crystal Plaza for it’s 30 plus crystal chandeliers, the building was designed by architect Stanford White, who also designed the original Madison Square Garden and the arch in New York City’s Washington Square Park. The interior details are truly remarkable with it’s sweeping central staircase, intricately decorated wall mouldings, and friendly staff. If you are local and looking for the perfect wedding or event venue, you will not want to miss this one!

The Outfits

Lauren and I are true girly girl’s at heart so of course we had to dress up for the occasion. Lots of lace and tulle was in order. Since pink is a favorite color of mine, I chose to wear this gorgeous fuchsia lace dress from Alexis. The halter neckline and tired skirt makes this a perfect choice for any fancy occasion. This will be my wedding guest dress of choice for the next round of weddings I will be attending. Lauren’s dress is from Philosophy Di Lorenzo Serefini and is just stunning. The tulle fabric and tiered skirt make this a fabulous glam night out look. Both dresses are super feminine and fun. Wedding season is close upon us so these are two really pretty options!

The Galentine’s Photoshoot

We were lucky enough to be able to change our outfits in the Crystal Plaza Bridal Suite. A perfectly luxe private room fitting for the bride and her bridal party. Wall length mirrors, chandeliers, and a chaise lounge chair made us feel pampered and so grateful. For this Galentine’s day look, we took photo’s in the front lobby with it’s white decor as the backdrop, to allow our dresses to pop! This is such a great photo friendly spot that I also utilized it for this last year. Can you just picture your whole bridal party here? How stunning!

As expected, Lauren and I had lots of laughs while photographing this look. We may or may not have had a few close call stumbles while trying to walk together in our heels, and a caught on camera bra adjustment (guilty!)! This is truly one of my favorite parts about blogging. Social media has made connecting with and finding your tribe so possible. Making new friendships with people that you may never in your life have known has been such a great experience. I read an instagram post recently that really made me stop to and think. It is from a super glam girl that I’ve been following for a while now on instagram called All Glam No Filter. She said “to own the things you love not only because they make you who you are, but because there are others out there who love the same things you do and they’ll never find you if you’re holding back”. This is so true! Be who you are, have fun with it, and own it. Your tribe will find you.

Happy Galentine’s day! xo
