White Dresses for Summer

I know we just started Spring, but Summer will be here before we know it. The warm weather just makes me want to break out my white dresses and sip on a lemonade. Not only are white dresses so fresh for summer, but they are great for graduations, weddings, and any other outdoor social event. Here I’m sharing the best white summer dresses of the season.

Embroidered and Eyelet White Dresses

Classic white cotton dresses are perfect for warm summer days and nights. The breathable cotton fabric against your skin is refreshing. While traditional cotton poplin dresses are suitable for dressing up or down, my favorite kind of cotton is embroidered, or also known as Broderie anglaise (English Embroidery). This technique, where holes are cut, then sewn into cotton and made into patterns, originated in 16th century Europe. An old style that is still so relevant!

Very similar to broderie is eyelet. Eyelet dresses are so perfect for summer! I’m always looking to add a new eyelet dress for summer. Whether you love mini, midi, or maxi length, choosing one in eyelet is sure to be a stunner!

Embroidered cotton dresses make the perfect bridal dresses if you are looking to have a beach wedding, or outdoor ceremony. While I would not wear a white dress to a wedding that I am a guest at, (I’ll let the bride shine there!), I do love white dresses for any other occasion.

Mini White Summer dresses

A mini dress is great for hot summer days. I prefer dresses to shorts in the summer. These mini dresses are perfect for your average summer days strolling through the Farmer’s Market, picnics at the park, or a casual lunch spent outdoors. Wear these with sandals or sneakers.

Special Occasion White dresses

These white dresses are for your more formal, or dressier occasions. Mother’s day, graduation parties, baby showers, or dinner dates, these are my favorite dresses of the season!
