Must-Have Sezane Sweaters for Fall
It’s almost sweater weather and time to start thinking about cozy sweaters for cooler days ahead. It’s no surprise that Sezane is my most worn brand for all clothing and for sweaters. And today I’m sharing which sweaters to invest in, so you can wear them season after season. Each sweater is thoughtfully designed to elevate your wardrobe and evoke a sense of Parisian allure.
Vintage Inspired Fashion
One of my favorite things about the Sezane brand is that is got it’s roots in vintage fashion. Founder Morgan Sezalory started out by finding and selling vintage clothes on ebay. She would search out vintage pieces and make updates to them such as changing out the buttons, or sewing a hem. She would them sell them on her ebay store. This success found its way to eventually creating the Sezane brand. Inspired by vintage finds, nostalgic prints, and of course, effortless Parisian flair. Each piece is thoughtfully designed to elevate your wardrobe and evoke a sense of Parisian allure.
Quality and Craftsmanship
It’s the quality of Sezane sweaters that keeps its customers coming back for more. These high quality materials are sourced worldwide to create special pieces to last year after year. The attention to detail is by far what sets Sezane apart from others brands. Whether it’s mother of pearl buttons, crochet trim details, or slightly puffed sleeves, Sezane sweaters have a touch of nostalgic charm that you can’t find anywhere else. It’s where timeless sophistication meets modern style.
Affordability vs. Luxury Appeal
What makes Sezane unique is the balance between affordability and luxury. While high luxury brands command high price points, Sezane’s pricing remains more affordable. When comparing price versus quality, Sezane stands out as the best option for attainable luxury. I have lusted after many of the high-ends brands. I once owned a Chanel sweater (that I have since sold), and own a Chloe turtleneck which I still love. While these two items are beautiful and so well made, I have a hard time justifying their very high price point. In my honest opinion, Sezane sweaters are just as great and much much more affordable!
10 Must-Have Sezane Sweaters:
Wool and Wool Blend Sweaters
1. Gaspard Cardigan

Gaspard Cardigan– Sezane is known for their iconic sweater collection. The infamous Gaspard cardigan is their best-selling piece. It comes in a seasonal range of colors that are so good! From your basic neutrals, to saturated color, to light pastels, and even stripes, the Gaspard cardigan has become the epitome of French chic.
This style runs very relaxed. You should take your usual size if you like the oversized fit. For a still quite relaxed fit, but not as oversized, take the next size down. I’m wearing a size XXS (I’m 5’2″ and weigh 105 lbs). This versatile sweater can be worn as a cardigan with the buttons in the front, or with the buttons in the back. Made from a Super kid mohair, baby Alpaca, polyamide blend, making this a soft and cozy option. Note- some people find the mohair to be itchy so you may want to add a cami underneath.
2. Betty Cardigan Review

Betty Cardigan– Oh Betty! This has become one of Sezane’s most classic cardigans. Coming in a range of colors, this cardigan can be worn as a sweater or jacket, and worn tucked or untucked. The ladylike style with the pointed collar and large buttons, makes this an elegant choice for any look.
The Betty cardigan sizing runs true to size (I wear a size XS) and the length is great for wearing tucked or untucked. It’s perfectly roomy but not boxy. I love to style this tucked into pants for a classically chic look, and untucked for a more relaxed vibe. In the top photo above, I’m wearing it with the Dan Trousers in denim, size 2. And in the bottom photo pictured above, I’m wearing the blur Betty cardigan with the full-length Martin trousers in size 2 (I had to get them hemmed as I am 5’2″) with the iconic farrow mini bag (the size is just right for your most important essentials).
I highly recommend this cardigan- I have it in several colors. It’s an easy way to create a polished look.
3. Auguste Jacket

The Auguste jacket is more like a cardigan. It’s heavier than the Betty cardigan, but lighter than a wool jacket would be. The contrasting trim and buttons makes it a hybrid between a classic lady jacket and a timeless Chanel style jacket. I love this one because you can wear it open with a simple t-shirt underneath, or button it up for a more sweater type look.
This 50% cotton, 50% wool blend makes this sweater really soft and easy to wear for everyday. I’m wearing a size XXS in the photo above. I could really go with either XXS or XS but I wanted a slimmer look.
4. Brielle Cardigan

The Brielle cardigan is another classic take on a Chanel inspired jacket. Compared to the Auguste cardigan, which leans more casual, the Brielle feels a bit more elevated. In terms of fabric, it’s most similar to the Betty cardigan with its soft, lightweight feel. Made from 100% merino wool, it fits true to size and has a tailored silhouette. I’m wearing an XS.
One detail to note: the button closure isn’t a tight fit, so there’s a subtle gap that shows just the slightest hint of skin. In the photo above, I’m only wearing a bra underneath, which works perfectly for a night out. For the office, though, I’d recommend layering a camisole underneath for extra coverage.
Overall, I love this cardigan and highly recommend it for its timeless appeal.
5. Trudy Jumper Sizing and Review

Trudy Jumper– I find myself reaching for this one often. This was my most worn sweater last winter. It’s so soft and cozy and just feels so good on. Although this sweater contains 23% super kid mohair, I do not find this to be itchy at all. In fact it is super soft and luxurious feeling. The button detail at the shoulder allows you to wear this as a high-neck sweater, or open with the collar folded over.
I’m wearing a size XXS so that it is not too relaxed but still roomy and comfortable. This comes in a beautiful selection of stripes and solids. The Gerry jumper has a similar look with the button detail, if you prefer this look without the mohair.
6. Lyna Knit

Update: this knit is no longer available but for a very similar look, try the Armelle jumper with the same soft feel, slimmer fit, and beautiful contrast trim. I’ll keep an eye out as this sweater came and went another time too.
Lyna Sweater– The Lyna sweater is the perfect blend of understated elegance with its knitted detail and buttons down the chest. This is perfect for cool Fall nights out to dinner with a pair of jeans and heels, or a denim midi skirt for a more casual look. Wear with the Damon trousers for an office to dinner look.
Made from 100% Merino wool, this light and soft knit is just as cozy as it is beautiful. I’m wearing a size XS since this is a more fitted sweater. I love it in both the ecru and black styles! Try this top for a similar but more minimal option.
7. Sezane Sami Jumper

Sami Jumper– The Sami jumper is a best seller! This is such a popular sweater that it never stays in stock for long. This is a 53% wool/ 47% cotton blend sweater which makes this super soft. Even if you do not like wool sweaters, you may want to try this one as it feels just like a true cotton sweater.
The slightly crop length (but still enough length for little tuck) makes this sweater great to pair with skirts and a belt. There is even a short matching skirt available as well as the Naelle midi skirt! (You can see me more photos of me wearing the matching set in black in this post about chic ways to style black). The buttons along the arm make for a special detail that adds lots of interest to your outfit. I’m wearing a size XS for a true to size fit. This is an easy one to throw on everyday!
8. Mohair Knits

The Annita jumper, shown above, is one of my favorite mohair knits! The simple style makes it’s so versatile and it goes with everything. While the Annita is currently sold-out, Sezane always comes up with new and unique styles throughout the season. Whether you love minimal chic styles or want some unique details, there is one for you.
My current favorite Sezane sweater styles for this fall season are this boatneck knit for a minimal but still super classy option, or this openwork cardigan if you are looking for something more feminine and unique.
I’m also wearing the Claude bag in Rosewood pictured above.
9. Aretha Jumper

The Aretha jumper is a beautiful style with a boat neckline and slightly puffed sleeves. Made from Kid mohair, wool, and polyamide, this soft and fuzzy sweater is an elegant addition to your fall sweater collection. I love this for the holidays as it is a bit more polished and dressy. The fit is slightly oversized and I’m wearing a XXS. I’ve kept this look icy and cool with the micro Farrow bucket bag. I’m hoping they bring this blue color back for the new season.
Cotton Sezane Sweaters
10. Leontine Jumper

Léontine Jumper– The Léontine jumper is right next to the Gaspard cardigan for Sezane’s best-selling and most loved sweaters. This 100% organic cotton knit features slightly ballooned sleeves, with a button down placket so you wear it as closed or as open as you want. This is great for more casual looks. It’s one of those sweaters you can wear over and over again.
I’m wearing a size XXS due to the oversized fit. As you can see it is still roomy enough. Depending on how oversized you want this to fit, I recommend taking your usual size or sizing down for a more tailored look. Since it’s 100% cotton, there is no itch factor here!
11. Bree Cable-knit Jumper

Bree Jumper– If wool is not your thing, the Bree jumper is for you. Made from 100% organic cotton, this cable knit style sweater is the perfect basic in your wardrobe. It goes with everything from jeans and skirts, to shorts, and pants. It’s a great versatile option that you can wear alone, or under a blazer. I love the beautiful texture in this one.
This has a slightly relaxed fit with slight balloon sleeves. I’m wearing a XXS. The fit is very similar to the Leontine. If you love the Leontine sweater but don’t want stripes, the Bree is for you!
12. Gary Jumper

If you love the Trudy jumper but are sensitive to mohair or wool, the Gary jumper is your best alternative. Made from 94% organic cotton and polyamide, the Gary jumper has the same shoulder button detail as Trudy. It feels very much like the Sami jumper fabric. The relaxed fit is not too oversized but has an all around comfortable and casual feel. I’m wearing a size XXS. I’ve paired this all caramel outfit with the vintage blue Jim coat which has a very oversized fit.
