Honestly I used to be all about getting dressed up and going out, however as I get older, I prefer to enjoy a casual night in. It’s generally very cold here so comfort is first on my mind. Whether you are staying in, going out, or going to an informal party, I’m sharing 8 casual new year’s eve outfits with you today.

Off the Shoulder Sweater and Pants

An off-the-shoulder sweater is always fun. Choose a neutral color like black or beige to keep the look soft and classic. Your definition of casual can mean pants or jeans. Either way, this is a great casual New Year’s Eve outfit that gives quiet luxury vibes. Pair this with a short necklace to really play up the exposed shoulders.

Embellished Sweater and Jeans

Embellished sweaters always make a fun statement. Pair yours with denim or velvet jeans for elevated but still casual party outfits.  I really like the addition of velvet jeans for the holidays. This also makes a really great date night outfit for after the new year too. Keep your jewelry simple and let your sweater speak for itself!

Sequins Top and Pants

When is it more appropriate to wear sequins than new year’s eve? If you are going for it, then now is the time! This is such an easy new year’s eve party outfit to put together. For the rest of the season, add a sweater coat over top to tone down the boldness.

You’re saying that you want to be festive but are doing it in a very effortless and comfortable way. This is all weather friendly too. Nothing is more luxe than cashmere in the winter! But instead of wearing just a cashmere sweater, why not make it a complete lounge set? Cashmere sweatpants and a cashmere hoodie are the ultimate in cozy style. Add your favorite sneakers for extra comfort. While some sets can get very pricey, the ones I’m sharing are more affordable.

The no fail outfit. Whenever I don’t know what to wear, I choose a white button up shirt and jeans. It’s classic, timeless, and you can add any color accessories you want. Wear ankle boots with boot cut (or flare) jeans, heels with wide leg jeans, or loafers with straight leg jeans. I generally like to tuck in my button up shirts for a classic look, however feel free to do  half tuck, wear it loose, or tie it in a knot!
