The Tie-dye Trend for Spring
When you think of tie-dye clothing, does chic come to mind? Probably not. I think of summer camp. But tie-dye is a big trend for 2019. Here’s some tips for making tie-dye chic and wearable for anyone.
A t-shirt is probably the easiest and safest choice for incorporating tie-dye into your wardrobe. Plus you can find a lot of options when it comes to price. If you are more daring, I do love some of the tie-dye dresses that are out. I think they can be super fun. I chose to go with an easier every day look for my first tie-dye outfit of the year.
Color Palette
The first thing that I think is important is determining the color of your tie-dye piece. Multi-colored rainbow tie-dye is bold and daring, however a monochrome piece can be more subtle and chic. I chose a pretty pink and white blended top that I think is more “grown-up” then the rainbow counterpart. It is more wearable for a variety of styles. At first glance, you may not even notice that it is tie-dye. That is a win for me. Choosing a single color is a low-key way of incorporating this trend. Here’s a few monochromatic and lighter rainbow tie-die tops that I think are both pretty and wearable.
Keep it Casual
I love this tie-dye t-shirt with my skinny jeans. It has a cool casual vibe and can be paired with pumps, sandals, or sneakers. It’s a perfect “effortlessly thrown together” type of look. But I also think that the tie-dye tee can work great with a pair a pants. Think white linen or crepe wide leg pants. How pretty that can be! Whichever you choose, a nice solid base is essential for keeping this look polished.
Layer it up
Layering an outfit adds a stylish touch. I chose ivory sweater blazer to add warmth and interest. I think it really adds to the chic factor of the outfit. Not only a tie-dye tee, but any tee would look great under this blazer. A Spring essential for sure!
The tie-dye trend is easier to style than you might think. Keep in mind your color, neutral base, and a layering piece. Let me know in the comments what you think of this trend. Are you a fan?
