The Sunday Musings: October 31st

Happy Halloween! And welcome to the Sunday Musings! A quick read to enjoy while you drink your coffee or tea. This post will give you insights on what to read, a new recipes to try, and what to wear for the upcoming week! I always love to find inspiration on new things to enjoy. I hope this helps you!

What to Read

This week’s recommendation is a mystery suspense. The Guest List by Lucy Foley is a great way to transition into the cooler, darker season. A idyllic wedding off the coast of Ireland takes a dramatic turn when a storm washes through and the island looses power. This mystery keeps you guessing throughout. This one you will not be able to put down! I really enjoyed this one.

What to Watch

This isn’t a new series, but if you haven’t already watched “A Discovery of Witches“, what better time then Halloween to start? This isn’t your usual witch story, these witches live discreetly among us humans. Part mystery, part adventure, and part romance, this series has it all. It will hook you right in!

What to Wear

Sezane Scarlett knit jumper

It’s starting to get colder here in NJ and I’m already wearing my sweaters. I have several favorites brands that I always check out for new styles and colors to add for the season. One favorite is Sezane. I think they are reasonably priced and have high quality and design. This season I added a new style, the Scarlett Jumper in a beautiful bold purple. It’s oversized, so it’s perfect for casual cozy days at home or out and about. I’m wearing a size XXS and it’s still roomy. The Scarlett Jumper comes in a range of colors too!

I also really AQUA cashmere sweaters. I have several of these from previous years that still look great. Here are two new ones I added to my wardrobe this season- Cable Puff Sleeve and Puff Sleeve.

Where to go

Le Meurice rooms and suites

Art lovers rejoice! This Paris hotel was host to Pablo Picasso’s wedding banquet. Now Le Meurice Hotel offers guests an overnight stay along with a guided walking tour of Picasso’s favorite Paris hang-outs. You can see where some of his inspiration came from.

What to Eat

Sweet Laurel Chocolate Chip Cookies

I’m baking these days and am forever trying to find the perfect paleo comfort foods. I like these chocolate chip cookies from the Sweet Laurel cookbook. They have minimal ingredients, based on Almond flour and have just the right amount of sweetness to them.

I will be moving this series to monthly. With the holiday season coming up, I will focus on regular blog posts and gift guides. Happy Sunday!
