The Sunday Musings: February 2022 Edition

Welcome to the Sunday Musings February 2022 edition! A quick read to enjoy while you drink your coffee or tea. This monthly post will give you insights on what to read, what to watch, where to go, and what to wear for the upcoming month! I always love to find inspiration on new things to enjoy. What to Read

Normally, I post about books I have already read. But this particular book has been on my radar for months! This book by one of my favorite authors, Lucy Foley, The Paris Apartment, will be released to Amazon on Feb 22nd. I’ve already pre-ordered mine! Lucy’s book, The Guest List was featured on a previous Sunday Musings. Her style of writing keeps you in suspense while entertaining you the entire time. I’m so looking forward to this book. Keep an eye out on my instagram for my review.

What to Watch

Season 4 of the highly anticipated The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel premieres Feb. 18th on Amazon Prime. I don’t know about you, but I’m excited to see what Midge is wearing this season. She has hands-down the best coats and dresses of any tv character. Last we left Midge, she was fired from her gig with Shy Baldwin. I don’t know how you felt about the ending, but I was very upset. I thought her and Shy were a great match. She really seemed to “get” him. But I guess she took things a little too far for comfort. In any event, I’m excited to see where this season takes her.

What to Wear

I’m all about the Spring collections right now. I always thought the fashion cycle is a little too fast for my taste. We rush from season to season it seems. While most of us are still in deep freeze, the Spring collections are hitting stores. And I’m all for it! I can’t tell you how much I long for warm weather after the cold we have been experiencing. While I will be waiting to purchase a few new Spring pieces as it gets closer to the season, there are a few I had to jump on!

Last summer Alemais took the fashion scene by storm with their seashell “Atlantis dress”. Ever since, I’ve been keeping my eye on this Australian brand. As a subscriber to their newsletter, I had the opportunity to shop the Alemais Spring/Summer 2022 collection first. This dress shown above will be coming in another pattern perfect for the sea! Sizing is listed in UK sizes. For reference I wear a US size 0 which is UK 4. I also absolutely love this dress!

Another item I had to jump on is from the Pamela Munson Resort collection. The Dolly tote comes in 3 colors- pink, blue, and marigold. I chose the marigold since I think it’s a great neutral for summer. I’m already wearing it too. Who says you have to wait for warmer weather to wear straw?

Where to Go

If you live in or near Nashville, you can attend the prestigious Antiques and Garden Show of Nashville. As an avid antique lover, I would absolutely love to go to this event! Kicking things off will be keynote speaker Martha Stewart, followed by designer Bunny Williams who will talk about garden and landscape design. I can only imagine the treasures just waiting to be found here! This annual charity event will be running from February 11-13th. General admission starts at $30. Get your tickets here.
