French Style in Ba&sh

The secret to pulled together, French style in today’s world? Choosing effortless, versatile, and easy fashion choices. And one French brand that comes immediately to mind is Ba&sh. The French brand Ba&sh is known for it’s effortless, cool-girl vibes. Being a fan of Ba&sh for years, I always turn to them for modern pieces that are timeless, easy to wear, and on-point for any occasion. Here I will break down how to wear this French style. When my twins were little, I was always chasing someone around and needed my wardrobe to work with my new lifestyle. I remember a specific event one day when my twins were about 3. I took them to the playground on a spontaneous afternoon. It was summer and hot, so I was wearing simple shorts and a tee. Nothing fancy, with a pair of sneakers. I met a mom there who had recently moved to town from Europe. I instantly admired her very cool and effortless French style. She wore a dress and sneakers with her hair perfectly pulled back. She looked so put together and ready for literally anything! I instantly felt very “un-fashionable” in my outfit. Admittedly, this was a period where I just threw on the closest thing available to me. Chasing two toddlers around while working full-time is no easy feat!

Funny to think, this one event made me stop and re-evaluate my sense of self. It’s easy as a new mom to get caught up in the kids, and forget self-care. Having always been into fashion, this was an area I never thought I would neglect. But it was easy. Curating a wardrobe that is effortless takes some consideration. Choosing pieces that work for multiple occasions is key to always being stylish.

Key to French Style

It’s easy to equate effortless style with French style. The two are basically the same. The look of being pulled together and fashionable, all while looking like you just threw something on. That’s no easy task, and it actually takes planning up-front. But once you’ve prepared properly, it’s easy and yes, it’s effortless.

Ba&sh is one of my favorite go-to brands. I know I can get something that’s very modern yet very timeless too. The Ba&sh Floe Dress

The Floe dress (similar style here) is one of my favorite Ba&sh pieces this season! This dress, with it’s v-neck style, makes this a great choice for nights out. The ecru background mixed with an Asian inspired landscape of black, pink, and blue is just stunning.

I like to pair my early Spring dresses with boots to bridge the gap from Winter to Spring. Cotton Top

Easy breezy cotton blouses are real work horses in your closet. You can pair them with anything from jeans, to shorts, midi skirts, and pants. I’m wearing a size XS and the fit is generous with this one.

Ba&sh Sizing

You can purchase Ba&sh clothing from their US website, or at select retailers like Bloomingdales. Sizing generally runs from XS to L. Some pieces have numerical sizing. I wear a XS in Ba&sh, and it’s pretty true to size. For instance, I am generally a size 0 in US brands, and a size 2 in European brands (like MANGO and Sezane). The Ba&sh XS fits right in-between these two sizes. When it comes to their numerical sizes, I wear the size 0 for the best fit. All items mentioned above have a generous sizing. Take your usual size in Ba&sh, as all of these styles are meant to be somewhat loose and easy. Thinking effortless dressing!

Accessories are the finishing touches to any outfit and can truly define a style. French style is a little laid-back (unless you are speaking about couture). Vintage accessories fit so well into French style. Slightly worn pieces are true effortless gems, especially if they are French brands like Chanel and Chloe.
