This New Animal Print Trend is Taking Over Fashion

Move over leopard, there is a new animal print trend taking over. We’ve seen a surge in leopard print and snake print clothing and accessories this past year but now there’s new print to covet. Zebra print is taking over as the top animal print trend to wear this season and into 2020.
The Spring 2020 runway shows are the sneak peak into next season’s hottest trends. Zebra print was seen at the ATTICO and Burberry shows. As we know, these high fashion shows lead the way for the mainstream brands to do their own interpretations of the trends. We are already seeing some Zebra print taking over. But if you can’t wait for Spring, no worries, Fall 2019 also has some great Zebra print picks.
It’s no surprise that zebra print can be intimidating. It’s bold, and is a definite stand-out option. However the classic black and white palette makes it very chic and wearable. Long, flowing skirts and dresses will soften the look while straight hem dresses will add more edge. Whichever you prefer, zebra print is the star of the moment. If the vibrant print is too much for you, pair it down with black boots and a black bag. Or you can also go with a great zebra clutch to add an unexpected twist to your outfit.
This dress I’m wearing from Banana Republic is such a great on-trend buy while still being a classic choice. In fact, their whole collection is stand-out this season. Banana Republic has really stepped it up with blending the look of luxe in an affordable and approachable way. Can you tell the difference between this zebra print dress from Moda Operandi and my Banana Republic option? It’s high-fashion and high price tag very closely resembles my Banana Republic dress. Wouldn’t you agree?
To fully embrace the feminine flounce hem of this dress, I’ve added these gorgeous deep tan boots instead of black. Why? If you notice, high fashion magazines tend to add an unexpected detail, texture, or color combo to elevate a look. Black boots would look beautiful with this outfit, but the brown really adds depth. The warmth of the brown against the cool and striking white and black combination adds a little unexpected treat. Not only that but the chunkier heel adds a subtle casual vibe for a complete effortless look. See how I also styled these boots here.
To top off this look, I added my favorite color of the season, green! This dress comes with a matching tie belt but I opted for a little color with this dark green belt from H&M. It’s a perfect little contrast without distracting the eye from the overall vibe. Finally my green bag topped off the look just perfectly!
Stand out this season in Zebra. It is an unexpected yet fun take on the animal print trend.
