Welcome to the Sunday Musings! A quick read to enjoy while you drink your coffee or tea. I originally started this series back in the Fall, but with the holiday festivities, I put it on hold. Now it’s back as a monthly series. This monthly post will give you insights on what to read, what to watch, where to go, and what to wear for the upcoming month! I always love to find inspiration on new things to enjoy. I hope this helps inspire you!
The Sunday Musings: January Edition
What to Read
I recently downloaded the Flower Magazine app. I like having easy access to fun reads. This is a lifestyle publication for lovers of flowers, gardens, travel, and home design. Featured this month is tastemaker India Hicks and her fairytale wedding. The pictures are gorgeous, and so are the flowers!
What to Wear
This month I am wearing my puffer coats. It’s just a brutally cold winter here on the East Coast. Coats are a winter wardrobe staple and I like to have a few options. For variety, I recently bought this feminine puffer coat. The price is reasonable, especially since it’s on sale right now, and the color options are soft and pretty. This is an easy coat to wear for cold winter days.
Where to go
Back in November, we took a quick getaway to Washington D.C., and stayed at the Riggs Hotel. This boutique hotel was built in 1891 as a bank, and still retains some of that history. Guest rooms even include a minibar designed to look like a safety deposit box of times past.
Although the rooms are small, the location is really great. We were able to walk to all of the museums and monuments without much effort. While the hotel hosts an amazing food spot- Cafe Riggs, the restaurants in the surrounding area are also really great. Our favorite breakfast stop for a quick bite, Le Pain Quotidien, is just a short walk away. And although all the food we ate in D.C. was great, The Hamilton was our favorite spot for dinner. In fact we dined there twice during our 4 night stay.
What to Watch
I feel like we’ve been waiting forever for the new 2022 series comebacks. We have a few to look forward to next month that I will share in my next Sunday Musings, but right now I’m waiting for the streaming of House of Gucci. If you haven’t seen it in theaters yet, it is available to purchase on Amazon Prime video beginning January 31st. If you prefer to rent, you will have to wait a little while longer.
New Activities to Try
Although I don’t yet own a Peloton bike, I know many of you do, I did join the Peloton classes. Did you know that in addition to cycling classes, they offer streaming classes for strength, yoga, cardio, and more? You don’t need a bike to benefit. My favorite classes are the HIIT cardio classes with Callie Gullickson. It’s always a great workout and it’s fun. I would definitely recommend this to everyone!
