The Sneaker Trend for the Classic Girl

The sneaker trend is here to stay. Who doesn’t like good comfy sneaker? I sure do for working out, but for fashion? I have to admit it took me a while to come around to this one. I’m not one to buy into every single trend. Only the ones that really resonate with me. Sneakers and dresses did not initially resonate with me but with time, things can change. Here I will show you how I am wearing the sneaker trend while staying true to my classic style.

First, my gym sneakers will remain my gym sneakers. The hunt to find the perfect pair of fashion sneakers for me took quite some time. I had two main criteria’s, comfort and cuteness. Comfort in any shoe is number one for me. I just cannot be uncomfortable in the name of fashion. Second, they had to look cute with dresses and jeans.

These two sets of criteria really narrowed down the field for me. I found plenty of cute but uncomfortable sneakers, and just as many comfortable but “not quite me” sneakers. In addition, I wanted a neutral color to go with many outfit options. Then I found them! The perfect pair of sneakers that were trendy yet still classic, and feminine yet a little edgy. Girly without being too sweet. The perfect solution to the sneaker trend.

These Fendi slip on sneakers were love at first sight (I also love these Fendi sneakers that are still in stock, and this more affordable pair!). The color combination is just right. The white leather keeps them casual, while the logo keeps them very modern. The light beige stripes also adds a little warmth and interest. In addition, and probably most importantly, they are comfortable! I can actually wiggle my toes while wearing them. Thank you Fendi for not making a stiff shoe!!

I decided to go all in with the dress and sneaker trend and show you how I’m wearing it. The Fall colors in this dress (similar dress here and similar dress here) just gorgeous! The bright lush green mixed with the warm brown reminds me of the changing leaves here in New Jersey. Plus, they are a perfect match for these sneakers. It’s a casual yet classically feminine look. It has that effortless vibe as if you just threw it together and ran out the door. Isn’t that the look that we all are going for?

When finding your fashion sneakers, remember that little details count. All-white will go with everything however if want to add some color, find a pair that has a small detail of color you normally wear or that is neutral. That’s why I love this beige touch that Fendi brought in. It tones down the eye glaring white to a softer, more feminine look. Don’t you just love them?
