Iconic Black and White Outfit

Black and white is such an iconic pairing. The bold contrast makes a classic yet powerful statement. It is the epitome of elegant style. Always in fashion without too much fuss. The first image that pops into my mind when I think of a classic black and white outfit is brunching on the Italian coast in my sunglasses. Doesn’t everyone think of that?

Black and white can be incorporated into your wardrobe in so many ways. One fun option is with polka dots. Another timeless classic, polka dots have been on the fashion scene forever. Think Marilyn Monroe in her famous circa 1950’s swimsuit. Each decade has had a place for the polka dot. And this one is no different. This season polka dots are hotter than ever. And they are everywhere. We are seeing bags, shoes, and of course my favorite- skirts. The great thing about polka dots is that there is one to suit every style. Whether your style is bold or dainty, there is a polka dot for you.

To keep with a really modern feel, I went with a larger print on an asymmetrical ruffle hem skirt. This is a very flattering cut that anyone can pull off. It also looks great with heels or flats. What I love most about a black and white outfit is that you can pop in any color you want and it will look amazing. I chose to keep the entire outfit black and white but added pop with the flowers. Your color pop can come from accessories. A bright red pump, yellow fringe earrings, or a green clutch would all add amazing detail. Choose your favorite color. You can’t go wrong.

I wanted a casual daytime look so I opted for a graphic t-shirt. Who doesn’t love a nice comfy tee? This one is so appropriate. I love the catch phrases that are trending these days. There are so many good t-shirt’s to choose from now. It is definitely the time to stock up on your favorites.

To finish off this very iconic look, how could I not add in a straw bag? A classically elegant summer staple. Every woman should own a straw bag. They are easy breezy and go with everything. What I love about this one is the inner pouch that is attached. No fear of any items falling out. It takes this bag from cute to functional as well. A must for any mom on the go.
