How to Wear Spring’s Neon Trend
The neon trend is big for Spring 2019. I have to admit that I initially wasn’t too excited about it. I wore more than my fair share of neon back in the 1980’s. It was great then but not quite so much now. But as with most trends, the more you see them the more they grow on you.  Here I will show you how to wear the neon trend for those of us that still aren’t too sure about it.
Less is more
Taking the less is more approach really works well with this trend. It makes it much more wearable in real-life situations. New York fashion week photos will have you thinking that neon is amazing. But proceed with caution here. It can quickly go from stylish to childish if you overdo it. This is my opinion of course. You may want to wear head to toe neon and that is great. But for an everyday look, try adding in neon accessories. A bright pair of earrings will quickly become the focal point of an otherwise neutral outfit.
Sporty Chic
Neon has a sporty vibe to me. Maybe because in my youth I used to wear bright neon tees with biker shorts. Speaking of biker shorts, that’s another trend I’m not too excited about. But we can talk about that will be in another post. Bringing neon into a sporty look can make it fun.
Neon glam
I do love my skirts and have found the perfect one to incorporate the neon trend. This skirt from has a subtle hint of neon yellow mixed in the floral. I love this! You can completely go with a neutral top or add a neon top as I did, for a more on-trend look. This outfit really came together as soon as I saw this It’s the perfect chartreuse color that is so big right now and blends effortlessly with my skirt. It’s also gives that sporty vibe that works so well. I added my new Stuart Weitzman pumps in this gorgeous toned down orange color. Orange is big as well this year and I love being able to mix and match trends in one outfit! And lastly, I added my white vintage Chanel flap. White accessories do a great job of toning down bold looks. If all else fails, add white!
I hope you are able to draw some inspiration on how you can incorporate the neon trend into your lifestyle this season! It is not as scary as it first may seem. Have fun with it!
Thanks for reading! And let me know what you think about this trend.
