Timeless and Classic: How to Wear Spring Trends Now
With spring approaching, I’m starting to think about how to wear spring trends now. Every season, I look forward to seeing what the big fashion houses are doing. But as someone who embraces timeless style, I’m selective about the trends I embrace. I recently heard a great analogy- trends are like a buffet; You can pick and choose which ones you want, or skip them all together. As a classic style lover, that’s exactly how I approach them, thoughtfully and with personal style in mind.
While spring may still feel a ways off, it’s not too early to start wearing a few new trends. I’ve always loved the idea of easing into spring style a little earlier. There’s something refreshing about adding lighter colors, or a new piece that signals a shift in the season. This year, we’re seeing modern updates on timeless favorites, making it even easier to incorporate new pieces into classic spring outfits.
Today, I’m sharing how to wear spring 2025 trends now, so you can get ahead of the season while still keeping cozy and warm. I won’t be covering every trend, just the ones with staying power that will remain stylish long after this season is over.
By getting a head start on a few spring trends now, you can create a smooth transition into spring. Think of it this way, you will be all ready for the first warm spring day. Plus, mixing in fresh pieces with your winter staples, it takes the boredom out of winter dressing and makes the anticipation of spring even better.
Timeless and Classic: How to Wear Spring Trends Now
The spring 2025 trends I’m focusing on today all have a timeless appeal. They are the ones you can safely wear season after season. A lot of the trend categories overlap too, which makes wearing these trends even easier.
What Are The Fashion Trends For Spring 2025 That Never Go Out of Style?
While trends come and go, some styles return every spring because they are truly timeless. The following spring 2025 fashion trends are ones that you will want to start adding to your wardrobe now.
Classic Stripes
Are stripes really ever a trend? Each spring season we start to see more and more stripes enter the scene. This spring it’s bigger than ever and we will be seeing stripes everywhere. From classic striped tees, to striped linen pants, even stripes on stripes!
Preppy Style
While the preppy aesthetic is more of a lifestyle than a trend, it’s getting a modern update this spring. This season, polos and rugby shirts are making a strong comeback. I love the two-tone style of this polo shirt!
Nautical Style Clothing
Nautical style fashion is a timeless spring and summer favorite, offering a classic, coastal inspired aesthetic. While stripes are often part of this aesthetic, nautical style extends beyond patterns to include classic colors like navy, white, and red, as well as timeless elements like gold buttons and rope details. I love this trend for its easy appeal, offering lots of spring outfit inspiration. This striped sweater is a favorite of mine!
Spring Pastels
Pastels are no surprise when it comes to spring fashion. But this season we are seeing two colors in particular stand out- powder pink and butter yellow.
- Powder Pink: Pink has evolved over the years with Barbie pink, millennial pink, and now a softer, more refined powder pink. The most elegant way to wear this shade is through monochrome styling, but it also pairs beautifully with neutrals for a timeless, feminine look.
- Butter Yellow: This delicate shade is just like it sounds- a pale, soft yellow that even leans ivory. Yellow can be tricky to style, but pairing butter yellow with white or navy keeps it classic. Try adding it through accessories like this Bottega Venta inspired bag, or these classic mules.
Boho Style
Boho style fashion is a natural fit for spring, bringing soft, romantic elements to your wardrobe. Think flowy blouses, tiered skirts, delicate ruffles, and block prints. To keep the look polished rather than overly bohemian, balance these airy fabrics with more structured pieces like a trench coat. I personally really enjoy this style!
Elevated Athleisure- Chic & Comfortable Spring Outfits
Elevated athleisure is about wearing simple and comfortable pieces in an unexpected, classy way. A simple way to embrace this trend is by pairing a fitted tank top with tailored wide-leg trousers for a polished yet laid-back look. In early spring, layer with a lightweight cardigan or structured blazer for added warmth. You can also wear an elevated baseball tee with flare jeans and loafers for more casual style!
Ladylike Fashion- Timeless Feminine Pieces
Ladylike dressing never goes out of style, and this spring, it’s all about collared blouses, structured lady jackets, and polished tailoring. Feminine details like pearl buttons, delicate lace, and soft pastels make this trend feel elegant and timeless.
Spring Shoe Trends
The right shoes can set the tone for your entire outfit, and this spring, sheer details are having a moment. While I’m not into the completely sheer look, a subtle way to embrace the trend is through mesh footwear, like these leopard mesh ballet pumps or these black mesh Mary Janes. These styles add a light, airy feel that is perfect for transitioning into warmer months while maintaining an effortless look.
Loafers are also a big trend for Spring with the preppy aesthetic in vogue. I find this style so easy to wear and with so many outfits!
Maximalism Style
While past seasons have been all about quiet luxury (and don’t worry- it’s still relevant!), this year brings a shift towards more maximalist style. Think bold patterns, vibrant colors, and statement jewelry. Spring is the perfect time to introduce more color and pattern into your wardrobe, and with maximalism trending, finding a pattern you love has never been easier. Try mixing different patterns of the same color for an elevated twist on the trend.
How To Wear Fashion Trends For Spring 2025 Now
Classic Stripes- Timeless Ways to Wear Them
A striped sweater set with ivory denim and Mary Janes creates a polished yet effortless transitional look. The contrast between classic stripes and light ivory denim gives a nod to spring while keeping the outfit seasonally appropriate. Later in the season, you can style this cotton sweater with linen shorts and tie the sweater over your shoulder (if you even need it).
Cotton sweaters are great for anyone who loves the cozy look of sweaters, but can’t wear cashmere or wool. Plus the cotton fabric is breathable and perfect for milder weather. My sweaters above are made from soft 100% Italian spun cotton. They are a luxe splurge to wear year after year. Cotton sweaters can sometimes feel rigid depending on the quality- the ones I’m wearing are known for their softness. You can find my sleeveless knit here and the cardigan here. For more affordable options, try this striped cashmere cardigan option, and this striped cotton cardigan.

Elevated Preppy Style- Chic Ways to Wear it in Spring
Classic prints like stripes and gingham are timeless patterns that always have a place in your wardrobe. Pairing them together makes them perfect for a maximalist approach to preppy style, without feeling too trendy. Whether it’s a preppy print, a polo shirt, or loafers, this spring tend is easy to wear in a modern way.
While my red gingham pants are sold-out, here are a few other preppy patterns you can wear this season and beyond!
Nautical Style Fashion- A Fresh Take for Spring
A red Breton sweater styled with white jeans and loafers feels crisp and cozy for early spring. Gold accessories, like hoops or a gold necklace, add a refined touch that complements the nautical aesthetic. Layer a trench coat over top for early springs days. Later in the season, you can swap out the sweater for a striped tee, and wear it with linen shorts.
Spring Pastels
For spring, try pairing a pink polo shirt with wide-leg jeans and ladylike loafers. This combination gives the preppy aesthetic a feminine twist. The pink polo sweater blends preppy style with a ladylike touch, and embraces the season’s pink trend. The unexpected color of the polo sweater gives this a modern twist to a very classic style. These embroidered loafers offers a classic spring touch (take 20% off with code THEFASHIONHOUSEMOM)- size up if in-between sizes. I’m wearing a size 7.5.
Effortless Boho Style For Spring
Boho style always brings a sense of ease to spring dressing. A ruffle blouse under a structured trench coat, or a feminine flowy dress both give romantic boho feeling while still keeping warm. While the weather is cooler, wear a long sleeve ruffle blouse with wide leg jeans. On warmer days, try a ruffle dress with sandals or Mary Jane flats.
Spring Shoe Trends To Wear Now and Later
Now is the perfect time to start wearing ballet flats, loafers, and block-heel pumps. They all provide coverage while hinting at spring. Try ballet pumps with wide-leg jeans and a cozy knit for a classic-meets-modern vibe. On milder days, try wearing mesh shoes as a subtle nod to the sheer trend.
Shoes are a great way to easily elevate your everyday style. Try light blue loafers or powder pink ballet flats to brighten a late winter look without feeling completely out of place. Once the weather warms up, you can add more color to your outfit by adding a colorful t-shirt, beige linen pants.
Elevated Athleisure- Chic & Comfortable Spring Outfits
For a polished take on athleisure style, pair a fitted tank top with wide-leg trousers and a relaxed sweater. You can style with with sneakers for a more casual look, or ballet pumps for a more polished vibe. Later in the season, this looks great with classic flip flops! This outfit is great for casual lunches or coffee dates where you want to look relaxed but effortlessly put-together.
LadyLike Fashion
This timeless style always feels fresh for spring. For an elegant yet wearable look, pair a feminine blouse like this red one, with tailored pants for a look that works for multiple occasions. As we get further into spring, swap out the ballet shoes for open toe sandals.
Maximalism That Never Goes Out of Style
For spring, try mixing different classic prints in a balanced way. A floral dress paired with a striped cardigan adds a playful contrast without feeling like it’s too much. The key is in choosing prints that complement each other rather than compete. You can also opt for statement accessories, like an embroidered spring clutch bag or statement necklace to add that maximalist touch to a simple outfit.
Incorporating spring trends early is less about following fleeting trends, and more about embracing timeless style with a fresh and seasonal twist. By introducing classic patterns, elegant silhouettes, and versatile footwear now, you can build a wardrobe that feels effortless and polished season after season. Many of the spring 2025 trends overlap, making it easy to wear them without buying too many new pieces.
