Galentine’s Day in the City
It’s Galentine’s day! February 13th is the unofficial holiday that really should be made official already. It’s the day that ladies celebrate ladies. With everything we juggle on a daily basis, this is the perfect excuse to get out and catch up on anything and everything. And do it in coordinated outfits of course!
For this year’s Galentine’s day celebration, I met up with Laura from www.abouttheoutfits.com and Laura’s friend Lisa to grab some matcha lattes at NYC’s Cha Cha Matcha. What better way to spend the day than in a pink cafe that serves healthy matcha drinks? It’s totally up my alley!
In case you didn’t know, matcha is made from green tea leaves that are ground into a powder. The antioxidant benefits may be more than your cup of green tea since it is in a more concentrated form. It also is said to lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol levels, and may even help protect against cancer. In any event, it tastes great! My cup of Almond milk matcha latte tasted a lot like green tea ice cream. Which is one of my favorites! Here’s a hint for you- my other favorite ice cream flavor is also green…. 🙂
Cha Cha Matcha was the perfect setting for our galentine’s day out! We coordinated in our party skirts to celebrate. Mine and Laura’s skirts are from Chicwish (similar and affordable satin skirt). Chicwish is a great source for skirts and dresses. The prices are low so it’s a great place to shop for any party or event you have coming up. Just look at how glamorous these skirts are! It goes to show that you are never too old to play dress up! I love our coordinated yet unique outfits. The pops of pink and red we have going on has galentine’s and valentine’s day all over it. Coordinating outfits always adds to the fun of a girls day out. Never mind that it is still freezing outside!
We also got to see a style icon in person. We almost literally bumped into Linda Fargo of Bergdorf Goodman at the cafe. Linda was looking ever so stylish as usual. I love when I see style icons in real life. She was wearing this beautiful Nanushka jacket in red. And how appropriate! She coordinated right into our galentine’s day look! Haha. I would sure love to raid her closet! Those are style goals right there!
Finally, a huge thank you to Mike from @GlobalShutter for bearing the cold with us and taking these beautiful pictures! I hope you enjoyed the glimpse into our day as much as we did living it! Tell me if you celebrate galentine’s day in the comments below. I would love to hear!
