Fall Holiday Outfit Inspiration

I love dressing for the holidays. And Fall holidays like Thanksgiving are no exception. Generally speaking, Fall holiday outfits tend to gravitate towards more casual and comfortable. I have a few Thanksgiving day outfit ideas for casual, a bit dressier, and comfortable options.

The Festive Top

A festive top is great to have in general, but especially for the holiday season. Paired with pants or jeans, a fun top always lightens the mood. The Floral Midi Skirt

Always a favorite, a floral midi skirt is season-less and a classic yet modern take on effortless styling. I chose this Alicia skirt for the beautiful color palette of florals. Colorful florals lets you choose what color you want to feature. Here, I’m highlighting the ivory color, to play up some of the lightness in the skirt. The dark flowers play so well with Fall’s beautiful color palette of reds, greens, blues, and oranges.

I also love to play up a skirt with a belt. It accentuates the waist while providing more detail and texture to the outfit. A great belt is the perfect accessory that you will wear again and again. Be ware though that depending on where you will wear the belt, meaning on the waist or on the hips, you may need a different size. This Gucci belt I’m wearing is a size 70 which is great for cinching the waist, but too small for wearing with pants on my lower waist/hips. When investing in a luxury belt, be clear on where you will wear it and size accordingly.

Perfectly Flared Pants

Flare and wider cut jeans and pants are very on-trend for the Fall 20201 season. I’ve had this pair of flare corduroy pants from Veronica Beard for several years now. What I love about the Veronica Beard line, is that it  has a consistently a modern take on classics. Fun fact- the Veronica Beard brand is by two sisters-in-law, both named Veronica who married brothers. Two Veronica Beards. How cute is that? Although these pants are a few seasons old, they brought back this style in an updated velvet which is on my current wishlist.

In keeping with the Fall holiday outfit theme, I’m pairing these pants with a collared top. Collars are big this year. I tend to like a more classically sized collar rather than the oversized bib type collars are everywhere! This Thilda shirt has a vintage inspired embroidered collar with an iconic button-up style. This look is very Jane Birkin and I love it! It an easy and effortless Fall holiday or any day outfit that makes you look classic yet modern.

 

Casual in Jeans

You can never go wrong with jeans. I find jeans to be extremely comfortable and they are a huge part of my Fall and Winter wardrobe. For the most part, I’m leaning towards a wider bootcut style which is on-trend for 2021. However this pair of straight leg jeans has been a big go-to of mine lately. I find them extremely comfortable and slightly more updated than my skinny leg jeans. Plus they tuck into a higher boot with ease.

Here I’m adding a little festive tone to this fall holiday look with my gunmetal Sarah Flint pumps. These sparkle pumps add a perfect festive vibe to an otherwise casual outfit. Plus they are holiday party approved! I’ve paired this with a slightly cropped boxy jacket which adds a vintage charm to a modern outfit.
