Dressy Thanksgiving Holiday Outfit
Thanksgiving traditions vary. They can be casual occasions or extra dressy. For me, my Thanksgiving holiday tradition has always been to go to my extended family’s house. It’s generally a casual affair but with family, anything goes. Am I right? I’m taking the dressier route this year. Since having the twins, my holiday dress code has bee more on the comfortable and casual side. That’s because I was either feeding babies or running after toddlers. Most of my time was spent on the floor playing with them. Now that they are a little older and definitely more independent, I can embrace my chicer side again with a dressy Thanksgiving outfit!
The Skirt
The center-piece of this years Thanksgiving holiday outfit is this gorgeous sheer metallic bronze skirt from Vince (similar silver version here). Vince always provides an understated elegance in all of their pieces! I love how this skirt has a subtle metallic sheen and a half lined body. Just a hint of leg silhouette shows as you walk. An eye-catcher for sure! I’m pairing it with my knee high boots that I’ve had for years. It goes to show that great investment pieces will always be in style.
The Sweater
A neutral sweater gives you so many outfit options. It’s a great piece to add to a midi skirt for an effortless look. I always look for wool or wool blends for the colder weather season. It not only keeps you warm, but it adds a cozy vibe to an otherwise dressy skirt outfit. My sweater is from Derek Lam 10 Crosby line is more accessible in price point than the Derek Lam stand-alone line. Both collections have simple lines yet thoughtful details. I always look forward to Derek Lam’s winter sweaters. They are very well made, always cozy, and have a modern twist such as this puff sleeve style that I am wearing. Made of a baby alpaca blend, this sweater is warm and great for a dressy or casual Thanksgiving outfit. I love how it is slightly fitted. A refreshing twist on the heavier and more over-sized sweaters that are trending right now. A true classic!
The Coat
Since this year, Fall seemed to run quickly by and winter has seemed to creep in, I’ve added my tried and true faux fur coat from last year (see this post here, and this one here) to add a festive holiday vibe. This makes a great look for the whole December holiday season too!
Finally, I’ve topped the look off with a leopard print headband. This trend is still going strong. I’m going to enjoy this headband now, as my daughter has already been eyeing it and I’m sure it will end up in her room tonight! And don’t forget the earrings. When wearing a headband, earrings are a must! This beautiful pearl drop pair from is so polished and refined. A definite luxe look for less.
This Thanksgiving holiday, whether you are dressing up or dressing down, let your personality shine through in your outfit choices. How will you be dressing?
