An Icy Metallic Holiday Outfit
The winter holiday season is such a magical time of year. Everywhere you turn there are festive decorations of lighted trees, red bows, and metallic garland. Everyone is rushing to do their shopping, decorate their trees, and bake their cookies. I’m stepping out of the hustle of New York city today and into the serene setting of Central Park. Like being transported to another place, Central Park is a haven for many to find a little peace and relaxation. You can forget that you are in the middle of one of the largest cities in the world. I hope I can inspire some quiet calm and glam into your holiday season with this serene holiday outfit.
Holiday Metallics
Silver and gold are traditional holiday colors that are sometimes overshadowed by red and green. Metallic tones that shimmer feel more glamorous and elegantly festive. Which one would you choose? Personally I love them both and often wear both in my jewelry and accessories. For this holiday look, I chose this gorgeous icy outfit perfect for your winter festivities.
Satin skirts are so versatile. They can be worn super dressy or quietly chic. Here I am wearing a shiny silver satin skirt by Vince. I have to say, I love this skirt! I also have this in the blush color which translates more to a rose gold. They were too gorgeous to choose, plus I told you I love both silver and gold! This skirt is really very flattering. The material is thick enough so that any lingerie lines are not advertised but not so thick that it is heavy. The quality of Vince clothing never ceases to amaze me. They really know how to do understated luxury. Quince is another brand that does a really great quality satin skirt at a really affordable price.
Since I love styling my own outfits, I chose a Rag & Bone sweater to coordinate. Vince makes amazing sweaters but I really try to mix brands when styling outfits. It puts more of my own personal touch on it. Rag and Bone is another go-to brand for me. I am always drawn to their sweaters! They are always nice and thick. I love a thick sweater since living on the east coast gets very cold in the winter. Below freezing is normal. This subtle leopard print in gray and blue blends perfectly with this outfit. I love the monochromatic feel to it. It almost looks like melted snow. A fun twist on a holiday look.
Another favorite of the season is the fur coat. Faux fur is really having its moment right now. There are so many new brands popping up with some stunning options. Two of my favorites is the French brand MKT Studio and the New York based brand Apparis. When it comes to faux fur, quality is important. You still want the softness and plushness of a real fur. The quality of these two brands is amazing! This coat I’m wearing by MKT Studio is soft, plush and warm. They come in a variety of colors too. Highly recommended by me!
And finally, how could you finish off any holiday outfit without the trendiest boot of the season? The white boot is still hot. And I’m happy about it, I love the freshness it brings to any outfit. Mine here are actually ivory. The more subdued tone adds to the quietness of this look.
I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments. What holiday colors do you love most?
