Why You Need a Little White Dress

The little white dress is the counter to the infamous little black dress. I do think that a little black dress has become so classic and such a staple in a woman’s wardrobe that a little white dress is almost daring. Black is a safe color. It’s all-occasion appropriate, while white does still have some outdated stigmas attached to it. Habit tells us that only the bride wears white, or do not wear white after labor day. I’m here to tell you why you need a little white dress!

The little white dress can and should be on rotation in your wardrobe. With Memorial day quickly approaching here in the U.S., there is no better time to get one. Gone are the dark, cold winter days. Time to brighten up with the climate. White is associated with fresh and clean. According to physics, white is not actually a color since it is the result of our eyes mixing wavelengths of light. So have fun with mixing any color combination you want! Anything goes. It’s your easiest outfit.

Mixing and Matching

While I can never seem to get enough of solid white dresses, I am also drawn to those with a bit of color. This dress was another great Ann Taylor find. They have really stepped up their game this season! The florals literally look like a fresh garden of color. I pulled out the pink with my Jacquemus bag. I saw this bag on the runway and couldn’t wait to get my hands on it! Jacquemus is another brand that has really gotten it right! It’s a bright pink so if you are into the neon trend, you will love this mini! The great thing about white is all the color options you have for mixing and matching.

Last but definitely not least is the shoes. I am wearing Chanel’s latest color combination of their iconic two-tone slingbacks. I’m sure everyone has seen the black and beige version. I couldn’t resist this perfect summer combo of pale yellow and white. I think these are more wearable than the black and beige, simply because they almost look pure white. They are the perfect summer outfit accessory.

Try a little white dress the next time you go out. I’m sure you will feel great and gets loads of compliments. You will definitely stand out in the sea of black dresses.
