Staud Madeline Bag

Best Bags under $500- My favorite picks!

The quiet luxury trend has me thinking more and more about beautiful, high quality pieces at more affordable prices. There are so many amazing bags out there that don’t cost a fortune. A few things I look for in a quality bag is comfort (it has to be comfortable to wear and carry), nice materials (not too hard but more of a soft leather feel or flexible raffia), and longevity (it has to be timeless so you can wear it for many years to come). Today I’m sharing my selection of the best bags under $500. This is a collection I’ve curated from bags I already own, or would be my top choices if I were looking to buy one.

Crossbody bags are key when you need to be hands free. I especially love to wear crossbody bags when I’m traveling since it’s more secure. I look for strap length (adjustable straps are best so you adjust to your height) and color (I prefer neutral colors for crossbody bags so that if you are traveling, it will pair with every outfit). Here are some other crossbody bags I’m loving:

The Shoulder Bag

The shoulder bag is a versatile bag staple. If the size is appropriate, shoulder bags can sometimes be used as crossbody bags too. I love the hands free nature of shoulder bags. This classic shoulder bag is the perfect example of a timeless style that you can dress up or down. The size is just enough for your essentials. This one is very similar to more higher end luxury bags out there. The simple style is minimal yet so luxe looking. You can read more about this popular popular French bag in my other post.

Here are some more of my favorite shoulder bags under $500:

The Top Handle

I love a top-handle bag. There is something so ladylike about it.  My favorite handbag style is actually a top handle with an optional shoulder strap. I really like having both options. For warmer months, I love a straw bag. It’s easy, effortless, and great for travels. Here are some pretty top handle options under $500.

The Belt Bag

While I haven’t quite bought into this trend (it gives me visions of 1980s tourist fashion), the Double Moon belt bag might just change my mind. I love the unique shape of this bag. This would pop so well against a white dress, or linen pants. The stylish lines add a nice edge that take it from touristy to stylish. A great under $500 pick!

The Tote

We can’t do a round-up of best bags under $500 without including the tote. When it comes to totes, function is important because, why else would you need a tote if it doesn’t function as a carry-all? I love this Longchamp tote as an easy everyday option under $500. It reminds me of the Celine Tote, however much less expensive!

Best Bags Under $550

I’m adding this section in because if you are willing to spend just a touch more money, there are some amazing bags under $550. These are ultra luxe looking bags that fit the whole quiet luxury trend for this year. Wear these again and again, season after season.
