It happens every season. That in-between weather feeling when you don’t know what to wear. Transitional dressing from can be challenging. It’s not cold enough for a jacket, yet not warm enough for shorts. Here I will breakdown the keys to successful transitional dressing. Be sure to stick with classics so that you can use these pieces year after year.

Transitional dressing #1

First, jeans will be your best friend in that in-between season dilemma. Get yourself a good pair of jeans. They can be long or cropped. Think of jeans as your neutral. They go with just about everything and can easily be dressed up or down I love these straight-leg jeans for their versatility of casual to dressy and the fact that they show off a good shoe! This type of jeans has gotten me so much use. Lots of wear equals a smart purchase! Make sure you choose a pair that you will wear often. Quick tip- A medium rinse jean is a good choice for all season use!

Second, is choosing your top. Layering is always a good option for transitional dressing. Layers such as a t-shirt and neutral blazer,  a light sweater, or a lady jacket are all great choices. The transitional weather is fussy. You can have chilly mornings with warm afternoons so you want to be prepared. Be sure to choose neutral colors to optimize versatility.

Transitional dressing #3

Choose your shoes wisely! Shoes can make or break any outfit. They really are the glue to any look. When deciding on a shoe, think about what type of vibe you are going for. You can totally change your look by changing your shoes. Are you a little edgy? Then try a bootie. Is your style is more casual? Try adding a pair of trendy sneakers. Are you more of a classic gal? Then try wearing a ballet flat or neutral pumps. Since I love a good heel, I chose these amazing Dior pumps in a light beige. They are perfect for any look. The heel is not too high for everyday wear and the bow adds a nice little touch. As you can see, the options are really endless with shoes. I have to say, that they are my favorite accessory!

Transitional dressing #4

Finally, the finishing touch to any outfit- the bag! Just like shoes, a good bag can elevate any outfit. This classic Chanel bag adds just the right amount of drama. The square shape is a little bit different and adds interest to the outfit. I love bags that have an unexpected shape to them. Try a bag with an unusual shape or texture. This is really where you can have fun. A bag is such a personal detail that you can go over-the-top if you like!

I would love to hear what your favorite transition pieces are. Are you a jeans gal or do you prefer long skirts? Would you like to see more transitional outfits? Tell me in the comments below!
